For those who haven’t had a chance to get a sneak peek, you can head over to our friends at AZ Billiards who have a nice promo video (couldn’t get it imedded on our blog for some reason). The new set looks fantastic! This is also the perfect opportunity to see some of the future of the WPBA, with names like Iris Ranola, Kelly Fisher, Yu Ram Cha and Pam Cimarelli (formally Pam Treadway) all making to the TV round alongside veterans Karen Corr, Vivian Villarreal and Jeanette Lee.
Our girl Debbie Schjodt had a tough run at the US Open, but that didn’t stop her and Frank from having a good time and representing for PoolDawg! In addition to playing in the tournament, Debbie spent hours playing challenge matches and doing the meet and greet with fans which is why we so dig our Tequila Schjodt.
After the US Open, Frank, Debbie and the ladies of the WPBA decided to let loose at a local karaoke bar. If you check out Frank’s Myspace Page and go to his photo album, you’ll find tons of pictures of Frank hanging out with Sarah Rousey, Ga Young Kim, Xiao Ting Pan, Jasmin Ouschan, Monica Webb, US Open Champ Kelly Fisher and tons of other women from the tour.
Speaking of Frank’s MySpace page, Frank is really on the prowl for friends and he’s not above bribing people. Just for the MySpacers, we’re going to start doing a monthly giveaway. Every month, Frank will be choosing someone to get a $25 gift certificate. If you have a MySpace page and you want in on the action, just send a friend request.
Last thing, I wanted to thank everyone on the WPBA tour who took the time to take all those pictures with Frank. You gals are the best!!
I just finished up watching the Great Lakes Classic on ESPN2 last night and I gotta tell you, I love the cue view! I know that many of us already know where the players are hitting the cue ball in order to make certain shots, but the goal of the bug is to help the casual spectator get a better understanding for the game.
If you watch old billiards telecasts and listen to the commentary, you’ll hear Mitch and Ewa talking about where the player is going to hit the cue ball, but for the layman, it simply doesn’t make much sense. To see if the cue view is doing its job, I pulled a couple of friends in to watch an hour of pool to get their opinion. Neither of these guys play much pool beyond going to the bar and banging some balls around so they don’t know the first thing about actually controlling the cue ball. Needless to say, they really dug the cue view.
On a side note, congrats to Kelly Fisher on winning the US Open (scheduled for TV viewing 9/11, 9/12 and 9/14 on ESPN) and taking over the #1 spot in the latest WPBA rankings!
As promised, our pal Debbie Schjodt sent over tons of pictures from her recent win at the Ladies Spirit tour stop at Amy’s Billiards in Florida. In true Debbie fashion, she and Frank headed down to the bar after her win to celebrate.

I’m not going to post all the pictures here on the blog, mostly because there are just so many of them, but if you want to check out all the photos, you can find them at Frank’s MySpace page. Also, I wanted to give a big thank you to Debbie’s friend and fellow Spirit Tour pro Niki Rasmussen for showering our little Frank with so much undeserved attention!
Next stop for Debbie will be next week at the WPBA US Open at the Riverwind Casino in Norman, Oklahoma. If you’re in the area, be sure to stop by and say hi to Debbie and Frank!
