Ok folks, the catalog is finally here. It won’t have everything from the site (we didn’t even want to try cramming 3,000+ products into a paper catalog), but it has tons of cues, cases and accessories as well as a bunch of new products. The first batch mailed out this morning, so be on the lookout for something that looks like this:
We’ll be mailing catalogs throughout the month so everyone who has a request in should expect to see a catalog in their mailbox sometime this month. If you haven’t registered for a catalog yet, feel free to do so by filling out our catalog request form.
Well, we’ve finally got all our new products up on the site, which brings us to almst 3,000 total cues, cases and accessories to choose from. If you’re a subscriber to our email, this morning you got to see a bunch of the new Mayhem cues we picked up. Unlike the previous Mayhems, the artwork on the new cues feature images created from comic book artists, giving the line some of the most detailed and unique sleeves you’ll ever see on a cue.
My personal favorite is the homage to the comic book Ghost Rider. Its got a skeleton in a leather jacket swinging a chain and riding a motorcycle. Pretty damn spiffy if I do say so myself.
In other news, I’ve got the latest on our catalog saga. I spent all day yesterday at Publication Printers where we print our catalog. Since there’s quite a bit of down time between press checks, I decided to wander a bit and snap a couple pictures of the place. All I can say is damn those web presses are big!
The good news is that the catalogs have been printed, so once we get ‘em bound and addressed, we’ll be mailing ‘em out. I know some of you have been waiting a while for it, but I promise you’ll have it soon. Check back soon as I should have a sneak peek for you all to check out.
The catalog is almost done, I swear it is! Our resident graphic artist is just putting the final touches on the new catalog which will start mailing in early October. I can’t give away too much about the new book, but I can tell you that there is a ton of new stuff in there.
The catalog will be 60 pages this year and will feature pool cues, cases, repair tools, maintenance tools, training tools, some game room stuff, balls and much more. We’ve also included a few pages for darts.
As for new products, here’s the list so far: Outlaw, Lucasi Hybrids, 5280, Joss, Schon, Scorpion, Action, the new Cuetec R360 cues, Mezz and we’ve even added some really nice 3 Cushion cues. As you know, you can’t fit 2,000+ products into a 60 page catalog so there will be tons of stuff that you’ll only find on the website, but the new catalog will be a much better representation of what we have than last year’s catalog.
Just to let you all know, we won’t be mailing out any more of the old catalog, so its going to be a few weeks before the new book is going to hit your mailboxes. If you haven’t done so already, make sure you get your name on the mailing list by filling out our catalog request form. If you’re a current customer, you should be on the list but if you’re not sure, just fill out the form and we’ll make sure you get the new 2009 catalog.
I know, I know. Our current catalog is too small. It only shows cues and doesn’t even show many of those. We’re in the process of fixing this, well, let’s just call it a miscalculation. As we speak, Team PoolDawg is hard at work putting together the new catalog which will be mailing in October 2008. This catalog will be much more along the lines of the old one which means it will be 60 pages instead of 16 and it will feature pool cues, cases, repair tools, shaft cleaners, tip tools… you know, the whole megillah. You won’t find everything that we carry in the new catalog, but it will be a much better representation than our previous book.
At any rate, if I’m blogging a little less over the next few weeks, its because I’m knee deep in copywriting and catalog building. In addition, we’ll be adding a ton of new cues and products over the next month or so, so keep an eye out for new stuff.
