Viking Cues Are Back at PoolDawg

We are very happy to report that once again we have the pleasure of carrying Viking pool cues. As many of you know, Viking hit a rough patch last year and ceased operations, but on May 14th the company resumed operations under the leadership of Wisconsin businessman Mark Larson.

For years, Viking has been one of our top selling brands, so we were all obviously quite excited to hear that the company had re-opened. We just got a large batch of Viking cues back in stock which have been inspected and are ready to ship. As of now, we’re carrying 23 models from their line (we have 13 in stock right now) and look forward to eventually bringing the entire line back in the coming months.

Shamrock Outlaw Cues Are Back (Sort Of)

Back in 2008, the fine folks who make the Outlaw cues came out with a special treat – an emerald green stained Outlaw cue with four leave clovers branded into the forearm and butt, topped off with a black saddle leather wrap that looked something like this:

They did a short run assuming that there wouldn’t be much demand, but the cues were a huge hit (for PoolDawg anyway). The customers loved ‘em and before we knew what was happening, they sold out. For the next 18 months, we fielded phone calls on a semi-regular basis asking about the green Outlaw and when it was coming back.

Well, today was the day, or so I thought. Word came in that the shamrock Outlaws were back in stock, so I immediately got them back up on the website. Then I opened the box. Sure enough, it was the shamrock model Outlaw but it was missing something. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it at first…

Shamrock Outlaw – 2011 Edition

Yep, the shamrock Outlaw is a little less festive this year, as it came in the traditional natural Outlaw stain with the standard stacked saddle leather wrap. Still though, it is a really nice looking cue.

Maybe 2012 will be the year we get the green Outlaw back. Until then, we’ll just have to settle for au naturel.

The folks who created the Ultimate Pool Challenge were nice enough to send over a file that lets all of our customers try out the new Mike Massey edition without spending a cent! Rick Rogers (the guy who invented the game) just sent me an email with a .pdf file containing six cards from the new Advanced Ultimate Pool Challenge.

All you need to do is click the picture (or click this link), print out the page and you’ll have six free cards courtesy of Rick Rogers Games and PoolDawg.com. If you haven’t tried this game, print out the cards and give it a whirl. Both the original and the new game are an absolute blast.

New Product Review from Samm Diep – Zone Pool

When Samm isn’t playing, coming up with new product ideas, taking the role of Denver billiard instructor extraordinaire, or schlepping up to Boulder to visit her pals at PoolDawg, she tries out new products. Last month, she gave the Ultimate Pool Challenge a whirl (which she really liked by the way). This month, it’s the new Zone Pool game.

A long, long time ago, puns were thought of as the highest form of humor.
