As most of you know, Liz has been a friend of PoolDawg for years, helping us out with copy writing, lending a hand in our trade show booth from time to time and of course imparting her wisdom to all of our customers via her Dawg Training monthly column.

She’ll be joining a number of other pro players who own APA franchises including fellow WPBA player Ewa Laurance and trick shot champion Andy Segal.  We all wish her the best of luck with her new business and hope she still has some time to keep up with her monthly column!

While I was helping her out with a Predator Z Shaft (which by the way, always makes me think of my first car, a Datsun 280z, every time that shaft is mentioned), I was browsing through her blog and saw that she made these retro video game keychains.  I mentioned to her how cool they were and a few days later, voila! a Pooka shows up in the mail.

Needless to say, I was totally stoked.  I was quite the Dig-Dug master back in the day.  I didn’t make it all the way to the kill screen like this guy, but I was pretty good.

Anyway I just wanted to give a shout out to my pal OMGWTF and let everyone know that they too can have a retro 80′s video game themed hand made keychain. Just head over to her blog and she’ll give you the skinny.

Everyone here at PoolDawg just couldn’t be happier for Sarah.   She’s been such a wonderful representative and ambassador for our company.  Plus, how many people can you think of that would willingly run around with a ceramic dog tucked under her arm?

If you’re in town for one of the WPBA’s tour stops, be sure to stop by and root for Rousey!  First stop will be at the Viejas Casino in San Diego for the WPBA San Diego Classic.

Billiard Retailer Supports Labor Day 8-Ball Tournament

Minneapolis, July 23, 2009: The Shooting Star Classic 8-Ball Tournament has teamed up with PoolDawg to offer drawings for $50 gift certificates to early entrants. The tournament will be held Labor Day weekend, September 4-7, 2009 at the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen, Minnesota.

Three individual $50 Gift Certificates will be randomly drawn and awarded to players who are paid and signed up for the event from now through July 31, August 1 to August 15, and August 16 to August 29. “We don’t want to penalize players for signing up at the last minute, but reward the ones that sign up early.” said tournament director, Mike Fieldhammer.

“We’re always excited to find new ways to support the billiards industry. Samm [Diep,co-tournament director] has been extremely helpful and valuable to PoolDawg over the years with her support of us and we’re very happy have the opportunity to support what’s shaping up to be a fantastic inaugural event,” said Mike Feiman, Director of Marketing for PoolDawg.
